Kate Y. took a friend’s suggestion to heart and started attending Baby Boot Camp classes in January. "I wanted to tone up after having a baby," says Kate who lives in McKinney, Texas. "But I knew I wasn’t self-motivated enough to get up and do it on my own each day." With a full-time teaching job and a new baby, the flexible workout schedule offered by Baby Boot Camp was the perfect solution for this busy mom. “I need the structure and accountability that specific class dates and time provide,” she says.

Before attending Baby Boot Camp, Kate kept active as a cheerleading coach, but not on a regular basis. After her first class, Kate recalls that she couldn’t walk up the stairs, but she recognized Baby Boot Camp as a serious path to getting back into good physical condition in a safe and supportive environment. Being able to take along baby Emily, now 1, is a definite plus. Kate says, “It’s a workout group, a playgroup and a social group all in one, and that really appeals to me.”

Kate loves the results, and who can blame her? She now weighs less than her pre-pregnancy weight. Kate’s self-confidence and body image have soared so much that she recently participated in the 2008 Mrs. Texas pageant, where she had an opportunity to show off her newly-acquired swimsuit figure. Franchise owner Andrea Gleason remarks, “Kate is an extremely dedicated student. She works hard at every class, and we’re all so proud of her.” Kate’s upbeat determination is an inspiration to her fellow classmates, too. “Her energy and positive attitude inspire us all to keep working toward being healthier, more fit moms,” comments Kate’s classmate, Nancy Jennings. “Our class would not be the same without her!”
